The two members of I AM THE WORLD TRADE CENTER Dan Geller and Amy Dykes have made their name on fun electro-pop music. The past year has been a trying one - mostly due to that very name making. The moniker they picked to represent their musical union took on an all-new meaning. But after much thought, the initial inspiration remained: Dan and Amy. Different, but same. Independent, but united. Like the rest of us, I AM THE WORLD TRADE CENTER has learned to deal with the new world we live in, and the evidence can be found on their exceptional new album, THE THE TIGHT CONNECTION. Not only does CONNECTION have great electro sounds, but the duo back it up by writing actual SONGS! I am the World Trade Center was named after a symbol of New York, the
city where we got our start. The Twin Towers represented many things to us,
their giant presence on the skyline reminded us every day of what an amazing
and overwhelming place we were living in. Also, the two towers, equal and
independent yet still one entity are a metaphor for the relationship Amy and
I have developed both professionally and personally.
As an additional show of respect, I am the World Trade Center will be
donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their record "Out of the
Loop" to the United Way of New York's September 11th Fund.
